Hello from Shandra.
            I was very quick getting Joseph’s next letter completed. I don’t think Anne was expecting me to do it so fast. I must admit I did get some help from Susan.

            Of course, Joseph found the bikini photos and of course, he commented on how tiny the blue one was. This was part of our plan that Shanti just mentioned she had sent the photos while Joseph told us what she looked like in the tiny bikini.
            Notice that he doesn’t even mention the more modest green bikini. To tell you the truth when I wrote this I didn’t even notice that I hadn’t included anything about this other bikini.             This letter is not as long as the last letter but it is an important one in the Letters Series. This letter will establish the base storyline of Letters for a while with each couple coming up with more and sexier stories. I hope you enjoy watching how this develops.
            Now after the letter with the story “The Girl on the Train,” we weren’t sure where to take things from here.             The letter opens with Joseph confirming that he has kept his wife informed about his correspondence with Shanti. He even goes as far as saying that she is enjoying the letters and photographs Shanti is sending. So this is the beginning of the fourth character of the Letters Book, Lizamoa. We will see a lot more of Lizamoa who, like Mike, quickly gets involved in the letters and later the adventures as well.
            Joseph then mentions that he enjoyed seeing Shanti in her swimsuit. As we expected he asks for the sexy bikini too. No surprises there. He is even bold enough to suggest even less than her bikini too. I think that was another surprise for Anne when I wrote that. Hello from Anne.

            This letter opens with Shanti letting Joseph off the hook for being married and not mentioning it in his advert. It appears that either she believes him or has decided to go along with it anyway. But notice that she does insist that Joseph is open and upfront with his wife about the correspondence. Of course, at this point, she has no real idea if, in fact, he will do this or just tell her that he has. But in later letters, we will discover that he did actually involve his wife and include her in the correspondence from the very start.

            This letter introduces the third character of the Letters series. Shanti tells Joseph about her boyfriend Mike. She also says she would like to spend more time with him and develop their relationship too.
            Mike was at first written by me (Anne) and since it was about the time I had just begun dating Allan, the personality of Mike sort of took on the real personality of Allan. Later when Allan became involved in the project, he started taking over some of the writing concerning Mike.

            The correspondence between Joseph and Shanti regarding the dress of Indian women now has begun to take off. Shanti tells him more about the mini skirt and boots she sent him a photo of and explains how Mike brought them for her. This opens up another interesting connection to the real Allan who also likes buying me clothes as well.
            The letter also says it contained a photo of Shanti in a swimsuit. Shanti confirms she has a bikini as well. After thinking about how Shanti would answer Joseph’s question about a bikini I decided to build on what Shandra had written. I put in this letter that in fact, Shanti had two bikinis, one sexy and one more modest. She cheekily asks him which he would like to see. Of course, we all know what his answer will be. Shanti even says she knows he will ask for the sexy one.

            The letter finishes with Shanti replying that she would like to read Joseph’s story about a girl on a train. She also confirms she is fairly broad-minded so a sexy story is fine too.

            We didn’t want Shanti to be a pushover and to let Joseph off easy about claiming to be single in his advert and then turning out to be married so we added his concern about the delay in Shanti’s late reply. He then gave a rather weak explanation as to why he was married. Is this good enough? Is he actually telling the truth? We will find out in later letters.
            In this letter, we didn’t realise at the time that we had started a rather spirited series of comments and conversations about Indian women being either traditional or modern in their dress and behaviour. Joseph, of course, is very traditional while Shanti is very Western and more modern so we quickly saw the potential of this for some interesting and fun exchanges between them. Even after over 100 letters they still throw light-hearted remarks and comments at each other so watch out for this as the series continues.
            Notice Joseph is quick to accept Shanti’s offer to send him a photo of her in a swimsuit. He is even bold enough to ask her about wearing a bikini too. When I wrote this and sent it to Anne, she was a bit surprised at first. It took her a few days to think of how Shanti would reply to this. You see at that time I only owned a one-piece swimsuit. Since I still lived with my parents I would never have dared to buy a bikini or for that matter had ever worn one in public.
            I told Anne at the time that when I had seen her and Susan wearing bikinis I had been a bit excited by the thought of trying one too. Later I began to borrow one from Anne when we went out swimming and then took care to get my own swimsuit wet before I went home. As you can see this bikini idea was rather a surprising new development for us.
